Letter from the President

“For thousands of years, we gazed at the birds in flight and the stars above, believing them to be beyond our reach, things we could see but never experience. Yet, in just the past century, we have transformed that perspective, taking to the skies and seeing the world from above.

Though flight has become an everyday reality, our ability to soar through the skies is still a recent milestone, a brief moment in the vast timeline of human history.

In that brief moment, we have achieved what once seemed impossible. We cross vast distances in hours rather than months, connect continents, and support critical air missions that protect lives and communities. Aviation has shaped our history, propelled our economy, and safeguarded our national security. It has forever changed the world.

From the Wright brothers’ first flight to the cutting-edge technology propelling us into the future, aviation is the thread that connects us, fuels innovation, and drives economic growth. Here in Pennsylvania, its impact is undeniable, supporting more than 226,000 jobs and contributing $34 billion annually to the state’s economy.

Investing in aerospace initiatives is more than an economic strategy. It is a commitment to innovation, education, and progress. Our airports, aerospace companies, and training programs are advancing technology, strengthening infrastructure, and improving sustainability through cleaner fuels, greater efficiency, modernized air traffic systems, and expanded workforce training.

We stand at a pivotal moment, one that allows our brief chapter in aviation history to evolve into a lasting legacy. By investing in education, workforce development, and industry advancement, we can strengthen infrastructure, expand opportunity, and ensure aviation continues to drive economic growth, technological innovation, and global connectivity in Pennsylvania for generations to come.

But aviation is more than business. It is a service to humanity. From emergency medical flights that save lives, to disaster relief efforts delivering aid, to infrastructure that connects communities, aviation plays an essential role in public welfare. Investing in aerospace strengthens these missions and secures Pennsylvania’s leadership in the industry.

I urge you to invest in Pennsylvania’s aerospace future, to support programs that educate and inspire, to champion innovation, and to recognize the invaluable role aviation plays in our state and beyond. Together, we can keep Pennsylvania at the forefront of aerospace innovation and secure its economic strength and global leadership for generations to come.”
